FRIENDS UNITE
By PATRICIA FISHER
We have been delighted to welcome many new friends this year including Zara Brickman, OBE, who ran Brook Green Friendship Club for so many successful years.
We have a wonderful group of volunteers who arrive early on Wednesday mornings to help prepare food and later serve lunch. Many thanks to Gloria Goodman, Yolanda Hopmeier, Lisa Pachter, Hilda Pankhurst, Mimi Spira, Ruth Mayorcas and Debbie Talalay
We all thoroughly enjoy ourselves. Meetings generally take place on the first Wednesday of every month and a wide variety of entertainments are provided. In the past months highlights have included an extremely exciting and competitive quiz and a delightful concert by David Young who sings at the Royal Opera House and English National Opera. His accompanist, David Gosling is a brilliant pianist. In November, Mary Lennard, concert pianist, once again provided us with interesting information about the pieces she was playing. Mary is a member of the club and an excellent performer.
We provide a warm welcome and tasty light lunch and if you would like to join as a helper or come along to enjoy a pleasant afternoon please phone Patricia Fisher, 020 7229 9661
The next meeting will not be on the first Wednesday of the month, as it usually is, (due to Pesach), but on
Wednesday 10th April
At 1.30pm
