YOUTH NEWS
By JOSEPH FISHER
Federation of Zionist Youth/ Byachad, the Central and West London Jewish youth group for ages 14-18 continues to enjoy a great variety of meetings and programmes. Over the past few months, teenagers have enjoyed musical evenings, cinema outings, discussions and debates on topics as diverse as Israel and the media, the Mossad and Tay Sachs Disease. We have also held parties, countryside hikes, Murder Mysteries and a London wide Byachad Quiz evening at Holland Park Synagogue which raised over £250 for World Jewish Relief.
FZY is a Jewish pluralist movement, and everyone, from Orthodox to secular, is welcome. FZY runs summer camps, the famous post-GCSE Israel Tour, Europe Tours, national seminars, and Year Course for Gap-Year students. FZY also has small autonomous groups across London and the UK.
Byachad, set up in 2000, has filled the Central and West London desert with an oasis of Jewish social life. The group meets on Sunday nights in members homes. There is a friendly atmosphere and we are always on the look out for new members.
