Mrs. Pnina Butler has left the chairmanship of the Cares Committee as she and her husband take up a new challenge. She has done sterling work and we are most grateful to her. I have taken up the reins again for the time being. Inevitably, given the ages of those elderly and housebound members we visit, one or two have passed away. Yet there is still much to do and our members continue to keep in touch by telephone and in person with great enthusiasm. We have much to learn from our older synagogue members - fortitude, wisdom, fascinating life histories and often great spirit in the face of life's many difficulties. We look forward to welcoming our new Rabbi onto the committee at our next meeting. We are always looking for new members, so if you would care to join us do telephone me on 020 7602 4747.
